On the Principal login page, select the “Personal” option. If you are a first time user, click on the “First time logging in – establish your new user name and password” link. Answer the set up identification question and follow the prompts to establish a username, password and security phrase. Once your account is established, simply click on the Health tab on the top of the screen to access the following information:
Health and Wellness Resources – provides information about the following services:
- Provider directory – search for doctors or specialists to see if they are in your network, close to your home, or accepting new patients.
- Discounts and services – provides information on available discounts and services, such as weight loss, fitness, and smoking cessation programs.
- Principal Healthy Connections – whether you've had a recent accident, chronic condition or are expecting a baby, Principal offers resources and guidance to help you. Read about hospital care, case management, prenatal care programs and more.
- Principle Health News is a special section of Principal's website that provides news articles, health calculators, fun recipes, and more. You will find stories on health topics you're most interested in, a health encyclopedia and drug and herb databases, health plan information, and thousands of news and journal articles on the latest in health and medicine. You will also have access to information from the Medical Library on subjects like women’s health, men’s health, children’s health, etc. The Cool Tools area has a Health Assessment, a variety of health calculators, animated guides and tools, quizzes, polls, and pregnancy self-care center.
Benefit Summary – Allows you to view benefits for you and your dependents, including co-pay, deductible, co-insurance and more. It also enables you to find out more about your prescription drug coverage, which puts you in control of your healthcare and may help you save money.
Claim Activity - View claims in process, claims processed within the last 24 months, find instructions for submitting a medical claim, access your online explanation of benefits (EOB), or arrange for your EOB to be sent to you by email.
Member Services – This link enables you, the subscriber, to grant eligible, covered dependents access to their account activity, enable them to research health issues, or use wellness tools.
